Prof Natalie Bradford
Centre Director
Natalie Bradford is the Centre Director and a Professor in Childhood Cancer and Palliative Care outcomes in a conjoint position with Queensland University of Technology and Cancer Council Queensland. Natalie holds a PhD and Masters in Public Health and has decades of clinical and research experience in cancer control and palliative care nursing in children. Her research program explores outcomes at the individual, service and systems level of health, across the continuum of care in hospitals, homes and communities.
A/Prof Anthony Herbert
Clinical Director
A/Prof Anthony Herbert is the Clinical Director for the PPC CRE, Director of the Paediatric Palliative Care Service at Queensland Children’s Hospital, and lead of the national paediatric palliative care education program ‘QuoCCA’ (Quality of Care Collaborative Australia).


A/Prof Stuart Ekberg
Research Director
A/Prof Stuart Ekberg is the Research Director for the PPC CRE. He works within the Research Centre on Palliative Care Death and Dying (RePaDD) at Flinders University. His CRE research focuses on communication and care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, their families, and their communities.
Melanie Rolfe
Centre Manager Research Fellow
Melanie Rolfe is a psychosocial researcher with experience in national paediatric palliative care policy and research. Her research passions include parental and sibling wellbeing, community development, trauma-informed care and creative expression and research methods. Her CRE research focuses on identifying national priorities for research in paediatric palliative care.
